“Just Because” Sale on August 7th & 8th

We looked around the store and realized we loved our customers and the store: the shelves are brimming with great merchandize. Fall yarns have started coming in and the summer yarns are fantastic this year. We wanted to thank our customers for supporting us through thick and thin (it has been a rough year for many, many folks including many of us), and so we are having a “Just Because” sale on Saturday and Sunday, August 7th and 8th from 10 am to 5 pm.

All needles and notions will be on sale – 15% off everything. (Store members will get 20%). Stock up on all the needles you need for your Fall projects. We have plenty of stock on the Addi Turbo needles and the Clover bamboo needles – just come and have your pick of the needles you need. Felting supplies, stitch markers and buttons – it’s all going on sale.

All patterns and books are going on sale too – 15% off everything. (Store members will get 20%). Get your knitting projects in order for the Fall and the Holiday season.

Come browse our Fall yarns this year – Cascade 128 Superwash, Noro Kureyon Sock, Schaefer’s Chris and more - all lovely yarns that are already going fast. Plus our regular supply of Cascade 220, Malabrigo Worsted, Silky Merino, Noro Kureyon – all the yarns that we have all come to love and adore.

Purchases made through our e-commerce website between 12:01 am on August 7th to 12:00pm on August 8th will also get discounts on all needles, notions, patterns and books. You will be able to designate items for store pick-up if you would like. Which means you should get started to cataloging all the needles that you require and get ready to place your orders.

As usual the road rules for the sale:

*Classes and gift certificates are not eligible for discounts. 
*Returns only with receipts.
*Sale does not apply to special orders or items that have been placed on hold
*Items in the sale bin will not be discounted further.
*Unfortunately, we won’t be able to wind your yarn on sale day. We will be happy to wind it for you on another day.

Benefit for Haiti

We have been fans of designer Rosemary Hill for a while. Not only is she local to the Bay Area, we fell in love with the Ice Queen and she came to teach a class at the store. It was a pleasure to get to know her. Thank you Rosemary!!

Since then, we have followed her journey and watched her new designs for the last few years with a lot of interest. When the Haiti earthquake happened, Rosemary designed the beautiful ”Brandywine” shawl and decided to donate the majority of the proceeds to ”Doctors Without Borders”. We have several people (staff and customers) at the store who have knitted this gorgeous shawl and have watched in amazement as the amount donated for Haiti benefit have steadily gone up. As of July 4th, 2010, Rosemary has contributed $13,000 (yes! that’s correct) from the sales of this one pattern.

For the one-year anniversary of the Haiti earthquake, we wanted to share this story of knitters making a difference – a huge difference! If you would like to knit this shawl or buy this pattern or support the Haiti Relief, you can start by getting the pattern from her website. If you do decide to knit this, it looks beautiful in any yarn – fingering or laceweight yarn. And then you can knit and do good at the same time.
