Our first shipment of Vogue Knitting Spring/Summer 2009 came and went really fast. There are some great patterns in this issue. Saloni started the Drop Stitch Scarf In Blue Heron’s Rayon Metallic.
This is a fun scarf and we are going to be doing a KAL (knitalong) for the scarf on Wednesday Knit Nites. Stay tuned for more details.
At any rate, there are many cute patterns in this issue.
Normally, we are much bigger fans of Interweave Knits but I have to say this season’s Vogue Knitting is the clear winner. And so we got another shipment of Vogue Knitting Spring/Summer 2009. If you weren’t able to get you copy the first time around, come on in and get it now!

We are spring cleaning at Nine Rubies Knitting! We’ve decided to clean out all old copies of magazines before 2008. All magazines printed before January 2008 will be on sale for 50% discount until supplies last. That makes magazines with many, many patterns cheaper than buying many of the single-leaf copies of different patterns. If you have hesitated picking up a copy of a knitting or crochet magazine, now is your chance.
Among the magazines on sale are Knitters, Knit simple, Vogue Knitting, Crochet Today, and Interweave Crochet. Come in and get your copies before they all disappear.

As you know we are willing to help anyone at any time at Nine Rubies with their knitting and crochet projects. We love helping people with their projects because finished projects are good things. Sometimes the help we provide is simple – a dropped stitch, pattern reading or helping cast on stitches. Sometimes we are asked to help with a larger topic – learning how to knit socks, finding an unfinished project in the closet and wondering where you left off and how to begin again, or learning a finishing technique. For these larger topics, we generally suggest a class for some of these topics, if there is one on the schedule or help you arrange for private tutoring. And for those times when you urgently need help and more dedicated attention than can be provided by our on-the-floor sales staff, we are happy to announce the launch of Knit and Crochet ER.
Nine Rubies will hold a Knit and Crochet ER on Monday mornings from 10 am to 12 pm dedicated to helping with knitting and crochet project rescue. Someone from the store will be assigned to help with projects – this person will not be “on duty” as part of the regular sales staff that morning but will be solely dedicated to helping in the classroom. Knit and Crochet ER will be $10 per person. And will be limited to the first four people who come for help. So come on and let’s get those projects moving!
P.S. We always appreciate it if project supplies come from Nine Rubies – after all that keeps us in business – but we will help with yarns you may have bought at other stores. we just will hold out hope that you will eventually buy yarn and other supplies from the store.
